Hewas a priest of the Goddess who stole her sacred objects such as a golden apple. For that he was cursed and buried in a sarcophagus in the Catacombs. The sacrilege made him an undead, limited by the pentangle on his sarcophagus.
The sarcophagus would open magically if anyone would venture nearby and would lure him with treasures in order to pull him inside. However he was averted by the sign of the pentangle. Arthur wore the medallion and the Thing could not touch him. Undisturbed, he got the golden apple and returned it to the statue of Aphrodite.
- "Cursed is the priest who lies here. He betrayed the Goddess and stole her treasures. Sacred objects of gold he has stolen. By the sign of the pentacle [sic], he is imprisoned. The star of the Goddess rules him. Take heed, you who read these words of warning."
- ―Inscription on the sarcophagus
- "I smell warm blood and live flesh. Come closer. I have golden treasure. Come closer and see."
- ―The Thing
Behind the scewnesEdit
The roof of the sarcophagus room has a hemisphere hanging from the middle of the hollow.
This object has no name in the parser (it can't be
looked at or
Merlin about it), the player can right-click on it. Merlin will just comment that he doesn't know what it is, and he doesn't know everything
The Thing will pull Arthur if he approaches the sarcophagus without the medallion.
